Collaboration explores applications for seniors living alone and nursing care facilities, with a privacy-friendly approach that requires no cameras

AirFit and Taehan Partner to Develop Contactless Care Service Using Wi-Fi Signals

A technology that can detect emergency situations inside the home without installing cameras is now being integrated into real-world care services.

AirFit (CEO Boyoung Yeom), an AI company specializing in contactless spatial intelligence, and Taehan (CEO Hangi Kim), a provider of senior care services, announced that they signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the 7th to jointly develop next-generation smart care solutions.

AirFit's technology analyzes existing Wi-Fi signals within indoor environments to detect human movement, occupancy, and abnormal situations such as falls. Because it operates without cameras or wearable devices, it significantly reduces privacy concerns while minimizing installation costs compared to conventional monitoring solutions.

Taehan currently provides smartwatch-based health monitoring services and has extensive field experience in senior care. Through this partnership, the company plans to integrate AirFit's spatial sensing technology into its existing platform to build a more comprehensive and intelligent care system. Taehan has also submitted a Letter of Intent (LOI) to purchase approximately 1,000 AirFit-based service packages.

Demand for technology-assisted monitoring continues to grow in environments where around-the-clock staffing is difficult, such as households of seniors living alone and small nursing care facilities. Following field validation, both companies plan to expand the service in phases.
